DownUnder GeoSolutions Training

DownUnder GeoSolutions currently offer the following training programs. Others will be available on request. The duration and course content may be tailored to your requirements by our experienced training staff.

  • Exploration seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation for non-geoscientists.
  • Basic exploration seismic processing for geophysicists This course is moderately mathematical and covers the assumptions, and practical application of procedures in current use. Fundamental concepts will be emphasized.
  • Depth migration, basic concepts and practical applications The how, when, where and why of depth migration will, dispel common myths.
  • Amplitude preserving processing The meaning and achievement of true amplitude data in exploration seismology will be covered. The purpose and applications will be emphasized.
  • Lithology and fluid prediction.
  • Anisotropy, fundamentals and practical processing Isotropy is the special case of the more general phenomenon of anisotropy. Basic principles, issues and practical procedures covered in the course will provide a thorough understanding of anisotropy for the practicing geophysicist.
  • Seismic multiples, problems and solutions Seismic multiples are still one of the biggest impediments to the seismic method. Starting from the occurrence and recognition of multiples, current attenuation procedures will be reviewed.
  • DownUnder GeoSolutions software packages Hands on training in the use of software packages will optimize their practical applications.
